As the competition season is about to start, we‘d like to remind you to check your horse’s vaccination records and when they are next due. Don’t forget horses competing in FEI competitions require a vaccine within 6 months of the competition and at least 7 days before the horse arrives at the competition. Any horse that is competing in affiliated or Riding/ Pony Club competitions,

if your horses vaccinations have lapsed they will need to be restarted to fall in line with the Jockey Club and FEI rules. Until the horse has had the first two vaccinations the horse won’t have adequate immunity and therefore won’t be accepted on the premises. Any vaccination needs to be done at least 7 days before a horse arrives at a competition venue.

Also remember we are using the very latest form of the ‘flu’ virus vaccine that has recently been made available in the UK. This new vaccine includes the Clade 2 strain of the virus, which has been found in the recent influenza outbreaks. This vaccine is both safe and effective. We aim to send out text reminders if we administered your horse’s last vaccination, please make a note of the dates yourself as well, if you change mobile number, please let us know so we can send the reminder to the correct number.

If you have any queries, please ring us on 01873 840069.
