Worming

In this video we discuss worming. Treating all horse, ponies and donkeys for endoparasites when needed is an important preventative healthcare regime. Worming shouldn’t be ‘routine’ but ‘targeted’ to capture the right worm at the right time. Anthelmintic Resistance is an ongoing concern and this is why it is important that you should be aware of when to worm and with which effective drug to worm with.

Worming can be very confusing for the owner and that is why here at Abbey Equine Clinic we have trained E-SQP’s to answer any questions and to ensure that you are using the correct product at the correct time.

We endorse the need for regular faecal egg counts to accurately ascertain the need for Anthelmintic control and to highlight any resistance problems that may be occurring.
